Acadiana Race for the Cure is happening this weekend

Race packet pickup, registration held Thursday, Friday

The 16th annual Race for the Cure is this Saturday in downtown Lafayette. The more than 2,500 registered participants may pick up their race packets Thursday and Friday at the LUS Fiber location at 1875 Pinhook Road (shopping Center with Office Depot and Party Time) between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. both days.
Any individuals who have not registered yet but still wish to register can come to LUS Fiber, register and pickup his/her packet at the same time. Participants with donations are encouraged to drop off their donations at this time.
Funds raised through Race for the Cure are granted here in Acadiana in support of local screening, education and treatment programs. Twenty-five percent of funds raised go directly to research to improve treatment and find a cure. Race registration just get us to the start lines, it is the fundraising of each participant that gets us closer to the cure.
Race for the Cure will continue rain or shine. The morning starts at 6:30 am with a special breakfast honoring survivors and the day closes with the annual Survivor ceremony at the main stage in Parc San Souci. Line up for the 5K and 1 Mile will be at 8 a.m. on Jefferson Street in front of Chase Towers.
