City-wide garage sale opens Main Street events this Saturday
The city-wide garage sale on the Park Avenue median will launch Saturday’s Main to Main program at 7 a.m. in downtown Eunice.
More than 20 vendors had signed up for the sale by mid-week with more expected.
Other events on the day’s agenda include:
9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Free art lesson at the Eunice Community Art House;
10 a.m. Farmer’s Market -- Arts & Crafts/Baked Goods/Plant Sale;
Jean Lafitte Cultural Center -- Lyn Fontenot’s “Aurora Borealis” art exhibit; Deacon Guillory’s arrowhead display;
Depot Museum -- open acoustic jam session, with participants bringing their own instruments;
Library -- book sale
Music Memories -- Rick Nesbitt of KEUN Radio playing yesteryear’s sounds;
Vintage car show (John R. Young) -- City Hall parking lot;
Johnny Reed telling Civil War stories.
11:45 a.m. Silver Belles dance group performance, City Hall;
Noon -- Old Tyme BBQ -- St. Landry Fire Dist. 6 volunteers, City Hall parking lot;
3 p.m. Jean Lafitte Cultural Center -- music program;
6 p.m. Liberty Theater -- Rendez-vous des Cajuns featuring Harry and Lisa Trahan.
A vintage clothing exhibit will be shown downtown during the month.
