Darbonne elected vice president of state association

Eunice City Marshal Terry Darbonne was elected vice president of the Louisiana City Marshals and City Constables Association and two of his staff members brought home top marksmanship awards.
Chief Deputy Robert Johnson was elected as district vice president, and remains the chairman of the Louisiana City Marshals and City Constables Association Task Force.
The conference was held April 17 to 19 and was hosted by the Alexandria City Marshal’s Office.
“The conference really helps us because we do a lot of intermingling between offices,” Darbonne said.
“We more or less trade knowledge of how their court system works are what they are doing to make things easier or more efficient,” he said.
Training subjects during the conference included firearms, use of force, legal updates, ethics, criminal and civil procedures.
During the firearms portion of the training, Johnson and Reserve Deputy David Harper participated in the firearms training. Harper was awarded first place in the divisions of First Time Shooter, and first place Overall Shooter. In addition, Johnson, and Harper competed in the Team Shooting and placed second.
There were 28 shooters in the competition.
With the election of the Darbonne as vice president of the Association, he will host the 55th annual conference in the spring of 2017.
