The city of Eunice could get $84,903 from the federal government if President Richard Nixon’s Federal Revenue Sharing Plan passes Congress.
A grievance and recommendations committee was announced at the Air King plan in Eunice. Members were H.J. LeDoux, Norma Soileau, Gladys Ardoin, Carol Thibodeaux, Lee Roy Darbonne and Yvonne Edwards. A company spokesman said there were 325 employees at the plant.
Nelson Stokley, Louisiana State University freshman football coach, was the guest speaker at the Jaycees Annual Football Banquet honoring St. Edmund and Eunice High football players.
Philip LaHaye Jr., a senior dental student at Loyola University, New Orleans, was elected to Who’s Who in American Universities and Colleges for 1970-71.
Russell Francois, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Francois of the Ritchie community, showed his class assignment about the Eunice City Park and Lake. Editor Matt Vernon said Francois made numerous suggestions to improve the area. “He would like to see some improvements made, and so would we,” Vernon wrote.
