Eunice PD issues 'Black Friday' reminder for shoppers

It’s that time of year again.
This “black Friday”, as with any busy shopping day of the season, Eunice Police Department officials warn against “grinches” who steal at Christmas.
Eunice Police Chief Ronald Dies said that citizens need to be mindful of what they leave in their vehicles. He also said that, as a reminder, children should not be left unattended in vehicles for any reason and for any length of time.
“Place gifts in the trunk of your vehicle,” said Dies. “And do not leave credit cards out in plain sight where someone can see them and take them.”
While Dies encouraged shoppers to lock their vehicle doors, the same should apply for the home.
“Do not place empty boxs of electronics in front of your home as trash,” said Dies. “And do not place on Facebook that you will be away from home or the gifts you received.”
Dies also reminded folks to slow down this holiday season and not be in a rush, or speed in your vehicle or on foot, while shopping.
“Do not get in a hurry,” said Dies. “Give way to those in a hurry. And finally, tell those around you ‘Merry Christmas’ and mean it with a good heart.”
