Kelly Pitre takes Chamber presidency

The Chamber of Commerce general membership elected its board of directors at a breakfast meeting this week.
Nominated by the Nominations Committee to serve through 2017 and elected by the membership are Don Mayeux, attorney; Anissa Israel, Eunice News; Erika Fontenot, Whitney Bank; Bonnie Pitre, Lakeview Park; Jacob Bergeron, St. Landry Homestead Federal Savings Bank; and Michele Richard, Eunice Communityy Art House & Niche Gallery.
Mayeux is outgoing Chamber president; incoming president is Kelly Pitre.
The membership heard brief remarks by Rene’ Stansbury, with the Louisiana Healthy Communities Coalition.
She noted LSU Eunice is among the first state campuses to qualify as a “Well Spot” under a healthy environment program adopted this year by the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals.
Measurable criteria are used to create three different Well Spot levels.
