Land swap on Eunice city agenda

Final approval of a property swap between the city and Bayou States Investments is on the Eunice Board of Aldermen’s agenda at its Tuesday meeting.
The board and mayor met Thursday to discuss the agenda for the meeting that starts at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the City Council Chambers on the second floor of the Eunice Municipal Complex.
A hearing is scheduled on the land deal at 6:15 p.m.
The deal is for the city to swap a lot on Maple Avenue said to be valued at $15,000 for two lots said to be valued at $16,000 and owned by Bayou State Investments on Samuel Drive near the Northwest Community Center.
Other items on the agenda include:
— Donna Baltakis of Keep Eunice Beautiful, Litter Abatement Program.
— Patricia Brown on LSUE’s Eunice Community Garden.
— Main to Main Festival on Nov. 21.
— Annual Kiwanis Christmas Parade at 5:15 p.m. Dec. 10.
— City departments closing for Thanksgiving holiday.
— Request to make Magnolia Avenue one-way between 4th and 3rd streets west to east during school hours.
— Toys for Tots applications.
— Discuss allowing and regulating pet boarding in the city at businesses other than veterinarian offices.
—Hear from Eunice High School students Sara May and Gage Alleman on a shelter for stray animals.
