LSUE Foundation to auction Rodrigue print
The LSUE Foundation will be auctioning an authentic George Rodrigue BLUE DOG (31 x 22) print at the Bengals Athletic Hall of Fame event on Saturday evening, Jan. 17, 2015, to raise funding for its General Foundation Support Fund.
The LSUE Foundation’s General Support Fund is the funding source that coverall all expenses related to operational duties associated with the Foundation office.
Daily operation, supplies, equipment and many supplementary programs are not allowed to be paid through federal and state dollars or student tuition and fees.
“It is not as easy to generate funding for the general support fund,” according to Madelaine Landry, Executive Director of the LSUE Foundation. “Unlike scholarships and athletics, daily operations are not terribly exciting, although they are critical to the support of every other program. Without it, the students, faculty and staff do not get the benefits that they deserve.”
This unique Rodrigue print, with a reserve value of $500, will be one of many items available for bids at the live auction. It is also just one part of an overall fundraising campaign for the LSUE Foundation.
“We are asking our supporters in the community to promote this item to the art lovers in their inner circle,” said Landry. “That would serve a dual purpose: First, it will help us to promote the auction item and secondly, it will promote the Bengal Athletic Committee’s Major annual fundraising event. “
Tickets for that event are scheduled to go on sale soon.
