Lt. Gov. will launch Experience Louisiana Festival's lead-up

Louisiana Lieutenant Governor Jay Dardenne will visit Eunice at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18 to officially launch the EXPERIENCE LOUISIANA FESTIVAL.
Months of planning by the festival’s Executive Committee have resulted in an event framework that will showcase the very best of Louisiana.
The launch ceremony will be held at the host site of the festival, LSU Eunice, Community Education Building. The main festival grounds include the acreage just north of the CEB. The public is invited to attend this milestone, “birthday” event.
Modeled after the former LA Folklife Festival that Eunice hosted a few decades ago, the EXPERIENCE LOUISIANA FESTIVAL is a project of the Eunice Rotary Club, co-sponsored by LSU Eunice and the City of Eunice. Primary Festival Partners include the St. Landry Parish Tourist Commission, National Park Service, and Eunice Chamber of Commerce.
The event also enjoys the endorsement of the Louisiana Folklife Center (on the campus of Northwestern State University), Louisiana Folklife Director Maida Owens, and a host of other cultural entities throughout the state.
The core mission of the EXPERIENCE LOUISIANA FESTIVAL is to recognize and feature authentic Louisiana artisans, craftspeople, musicians, artists, chefs, and more, in an effort to celebrate -- in one grand event -- our great state’s cultural past and future!
Festival components will include a Folklife Village, Musician’s Village & Main Stage, Craft Village, Artist’s Village, Food Village, Walk-Through of Louisiana, Film Village, as well as exhibits and displays.
