Man charged with porn involving 3-year-old
A Eunice man faces charges of pornography involving a juvenile, allegedly a three-year-old.
Jason Dies, of 446 Landreneau Rd., was charged by St. Landry Sheriff’s investigators on Friday.
Investigation determined that Dies had allegedly electronically transmitted inappropriate pictures of a three-year-old.
He was released on a $25,000 bond.
Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz stated “The details of this investigation are disturbing. I have instructed my detective’s to devote their undivided attention to this case. The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests may be pending.”
Due to gags imposed by rules of the 27th Judicial District Court judges, neither Guidroz or other officers of the court (police included) are at liberty to discuss alleged details of the case.
Also under those rules, records that are normally available for public inspection in non-sex crime stories are sealed from public view.
“This sort of criminal behavior strikes to the heart of our morals as a society and I will personally supervise this case. Any person who would take advantage of very young children… steal their innocence in this manner… will be investigated, pursued, and arrested… no matter who they are.”
The last appears to be a not-so-veiled reference to the fact that the suspect is a son of Eunice Police Chief Ronald Dies.
