Man found in pool of blood in barbershop

Eunice police suspect a man wounded twice in a barbershop was intended to be killed Tuesday.
Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said Rogers Allison 2nd, 39, was found in a pool of blood on the floor of Studio 412, 412 North Martin Luther King, at about 6:30 p.m.
The victim had been shot in the left arm and left side of his head, he said. Two 9mm shell casings were found on the floor, he said.
The victim was taken to Acadian Medical Center for treatment. He was in stable condition Wednesday morning, Fontenot said.
Fontenot said no reason has been determined for the shooting, but police are not ruling out robbery as a motive.
“But if it was it wasn’t a successful robbery,” Fontenot said.
Allison called his father after being shot and asked him to come to the barbershop, he said.
“The father knew something was wrong and found him in a pool of blood on the floor,” Fontenot said.
The shooter may have been wearing a ski mask at the time of the shooting, he said.
Fontenot said it appears the victim was wounded by one bullet and another bullet struck door.
“As soon as we are able to speak with the victim we hope to get more information,” Fontenot said.
Police also are waiting on medical records, he said.
