New owners renovating Louis Wright site

The former Louis Wright’s, located on historic downtown South Second Street, will soon be transformed into a new business, “Four Southern Girls”.
The unique baby and children’s boutique’s owners, Janet Seale Marcantel and Mindy Guillory Bollich, are currently making plans to open their business this fall.
Louis Wright’s was established in 1911. It was owned and ran by the Louis Wright family. The business was a clothing store which offered the entire family clothing attire and accessories. The Wrights had children, Morris, and Sophie. Sophie married Irving Kerstein. The Kersteins had two children Joan Kerstein and a son David Kerstein. The story of Louis Wright’s continued and thrived as the Kersteins ran the clothing store for many years.
The historical Louis Wright’s stayed open and catered to their customers up until Joan (Joanie) Kerstein died in February 2009. The building has been closed since her death.
Now, as people walk along the front sidewalk of Louis Wright’s, they can hear hammering, sawing, and see carpenters working steadily in preparation of opening the new business.
Marcantel and Bollich are eagerly waiting and ready to serve their future customers, “We are remodeling, up-dating, painting, re-wiring, trying to get everything in order and ready for our opening date.”
The two plan to offer shoppers a unique baby and children’s boutique. They said, “We will offer special-occasion clothing, accessories and gifts including birthdays, christenings, First Communion, weddings and holidays. Some seasonal clothing (including tween clothes) and accessories as well as Pamper Mom, Baby’s First Doll and Pampered Pet items will also be featured.”
Marcantel and Bollich, both with similar backgrounds raising daughters, added, “Being friends and having similar interests, we saw a need for a children’s store that catered to the busy mom.
“For those special times in your children’s lives, we are offering a unique shopping experience. While not wanting to compete with Eunice and the surrounding area’s offerings of this kind, we instead felt that we could add even more choices, all under one roof making it unnecessary to drive 40 miles or more to shop.
“We plan on working together as a team with other local retailers catering to moms to each provide different and unique items, therefore giving you more choices and keeping our tax dollars at home.”
How did these two friends and now owners of a children’s shop come up with a name for their business? They said, “With this in mind we decided to combine talents and open Four Southern Girls. Our inspiration and name for the boutique comes from our daughters -- Caroline, Amy, and Grace Bollich and Victoria Marcantel.”
Mancantel possesses past business experience as she worked alongside her brother Charles Seale for 23 years in his Interior Design shop which was once located at Walnut Street where Gossip is today.
She was a wedding consultant/coordinator for 10 years, and during the administration of Mayor Curtis Joubert she worked as his special events coordinator.
Marcantel has been married for the past 24 years to Douglas Marcantel and has two children; David, 21, and Victoria, 12.
Bollich, married to Ben Bollich for the past 15 years, was as she says, “A stay-at-home mom.” However Bollich obtained her realtor license last fall and is under the wing of Christe Dailey realtor. She is the mother of three daughters; Caroline, 14, Amy, 12, and Grace, 6.
