Senior project bake sale set for Saturday
Eunice High seniors Jada Bordelon and Caden Treadway will have their senior project bake sale on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Tractor Supply in Eunice.
All proceeds will benefit animals who were displaced by the August flood and placed at St. Landry Parish Animal control.

Carnival at New Hope Sunday
New Hope Fellowship Church on Sittig Road will host a Carnival, Trunk or Treat, fun jumps and hot dogs on Sunday from 5 until 7 p.m. Free Admission.

United Way requests shelving
St. Landry-Evangeline United Way Flood Distribution Center is transitioning to long term recovery and is in need of shelving.
The center is open from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at 905 Hwy 749 (Airport Road, the old maintenance building for the parish) or call the United Way office at 337-942-7815.

OLLI French table will meet Friday
The OLLI French Table will will meet Friday. There will be a discussion on how Halloween was celebrated in the past.
The events are free and the public is invited to the meetings at the LSUE Continuing Education Building.

United Way Halloween event
The St. Landry-Evangeline United Way will hold its sixth annual BOOgie Ball from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Delta Grand Theatre, Opelosas.
Music will be by Lil Kenny and the Heartbreakers.
The event serves as one of St. Landry-Evangeline United Way’s major fundraisers.
United Way helps fund more than 20 agencies and programs in St. Landry and Evangeline parishes. United Way is also running a a distribution center for flood supplies.
Tickets are $40 a person and can be purchased from the United Way office at 311 W. Vine, online at www.uwsle.org or by calling the office at 337-942-7815.

Community Carnival at River of Life set
River of Life Fellowship in Iota will host a Community Carnival on Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m.
The church is located at 119 Bulldog Lane, Iota.

Deacon’s annual set for fifth Sunday
The Greater Golden Light Baptist Church and Pastor Gregory Fontenot will host a Deacon’s annual set for the fifth Sunday of the month beginning at 9 a.m. All deacons are invited.

Wanted for committing the crime of being a dedicated supporter of Eunice Community Health Center “Jail And Bail” Thursday, Nov. 3 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ruby’s Courtyard.

Eunice Manor plans Halloween Bash
The residents and staff of Eunice Manor invite the public to its first Halloween Bash from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 31.
Treats will be available including hot chocolate and fresh-baked cookies.

Family Fun Day at Pilgrim Rest Saturday
There will be a “Family Fun Day” Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, located at 1154 Academy Road, next to Acadian Baptist Center.
Free admission. There will be music, games and food.

Community Garden open hour suspended
The Eunice Community Garden’s open hour on Tuesday has been suspended until milder weather arrives, Patricia Brown, interim garden coordinator, said.

Changes in Farmers Market schedule
The Eunice Farmers’ Market will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays until the last Saturday before Thanksgiving, weather permitting.
A variety of home-made items and fresh produce will be available.

St. Joan of Arc bazaar Nov. 12
St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Oberlin will have its 28th annual Bazaar Nov. 12 and Nov. 13.
The Bazaar will begin with a Gumbo cookoff on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 10 a.m. Among the activities on Saturday will be gumbo dinners, and bingo.
On Sunday, Nov. 13 there willbe BBQ chicken and pork lunches, silent auction, live auction, and live music.

Junior Auxiliary Jingle Bell Run set
The third annual Junior Auxiliary of Eunice’s Jingle Bell Rock & Run 5K will be held on Thursday, Dec. 1 beginning at 6 p.m.
Pre-registration is Wednesday, Nov. 30 from 5- 7 p.m. and again prior to the race time. Early bird registration is $25, registration is $30 and late registration is $35.
Registration forms can be picked up at the Mayor’s office at city hall and at Gossip Boutique.

Saturday program at the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center
Saturday programs at the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center, 250 W. Park Ave., Eunice, are the Explore & Restore craft workshop for kids, from 10 a.m. to noon; Cajun Conversations meets 1 to 2:30 p.m. to learn and practice conversational Cajun French; Music and dancing kicks off at 2:45 p.m. and ends with the cooking demonstration and sampling at 4 p.m. Admission to the center and programs is free.
