Eunice sales tax collections rose by 1.8 percent in the first four months of the year, according to a report by the St. Landry Parish School Board Sales Tax Division.
From January through April, sales tax collections were $1,859,383, up from $1,$1,820,402 during the same period in 2015.
Collections in April were $483,899 compared to $475,447 in April 2015.
Total St. Landry Parish sales collections from January through April were $22,276,152, up 0.9 percent from the same period in 2015.
Parish sales tax collections totaled $6,277,911 in April compared to $6,230,189 in April 2015.
The parish sales tax total includes parish, school, solid waste, law enforcement and municipal taxes.
The sales tax rate in Eunice is 9.75 percent. Of that 4 percent is state, 3.55 percent is parish and 2.2 percent is city.
Unincorporated areas pay a 9.5 percent sales tax revenue, which includes 4 percent state and 5.5 percent parish rates.
On April 1, the state sales tax rate rose by 1 percent.
