State of emergency declared in Acadia Parish

Acadia Parish President David Savoy declared a state of emergency for Acadia Parish as a result of severe weather on Friday.
Citizens are asked to stay off of the roadways until further notice. Anyone experiencing flooding in a home and in need of emergency rescue, should call 911.
All citizens are asked to pay attention to signs or barricades which indicate flooding ahead and not approach standing or moving water. It is never safe to drive or walk into flood waters.
