School Board renews Supt. Brown's contract

The St. Landry Parish School Board on Thursday renewed Supt. Edward Brown's contract for 18 months, extending it until December 2016.
The action was taken in a public meeting after an executive session to evaluate Brown's performance, a step necessary in the contract renewal process.
Brown's overall rating was 4.07 on a scale of 1 to 5.
Brown was initially hired after an extended period of the system having an interim superintendent and tempestuous times of financial strain.
The system has since right itself.
