Special Friday night Liberty program features Jimmie Davis' life, times and music

A special Friday night program at Eunice’s Liberty Theater will feature a night with the life, times and music of Jimmie Davis, Louisiana’s “Singing Governor.”
Musician and historian Brian Sivils will share the life, times and music of Davis, who most often associated musically with “You Are My Sunshine.”
Davis served two terms as governor and is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame.
The performance begins at 6:30 p.m. at the theater at the corner of 2nd Street and Park Avenue.
All tickets are general admission and cost $7. The box office opens at 5 p.m.
From 4 p.m. until 5 p.m., there will be a free healthy Cajun cooking demonstration at the adjacent Prairie Acadian Cultural Center.
