Sweet Dough Pie Festival is Oct. 22

Join us for the fifth annual Sweet Dough Pie Festival on Oct. 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the grounds of St. Charles Borromeo Church located at, 174 Church St., Grand Coteau.
The festival includes food from local restaurants, arts and crafts from more than 70 vendors, music and local homemade sweet dough pies. A large variety of pies will be available for purchase including fig, custard, lemon and blackberry. Covered tables and chairs will be available to relax with these sweet treats and enjoy live music including Cajun artist, Sheryl Cormier; gospel singer, Vergie Iglus, and Naomi Broussard.
Also enjoy a historical reenactment and trolley tour of St. Charles Cemetery where 15 graves of historic citizens will be the focus of the tour.
Meet Dr. Millard, who in the 1860s treated, Mary Wilson, the beneficiary of the only miracle recognized by the Catholic Church in the United States.
Proceeds for this event will go to the Grand Coteau Cultural Foundation, a non-profit organization. Grants are issued through the Foundation to fund a variety of local improvements, and for scholarships. No alcohol or pets. Learn more at SweetDoughGC.com.
