Two charged in pot bust

Where there’s smoke, theres sometimes a bust.
Drug arrests at Bengal Village ensued after the Eunice Police Department received a complaint of individuals smoking marijuana on the premises of the student housing complex on the LSU Eunice campus.
According to police, officers arrived on scene and located the two individuals described by an anonymous caller.
Keywaynetheian Walker, Jr., 21, of LeCompte and Jared Thompson, 18, of Pitkin, were arrested by Eunice police after officers detected the odor of marijuana on both individuals – who then , police said, admitted to smoking marijuana during questioning.
After officers asked if they had any contraband in their possession, Walker turned over a plastic bag containing more marijuana, according to police.
Both were placed under arrest, booked at the city jail and released on a summons for City Court.
Both were charged with possession of marijuana and violation of the uniform CDS law.
It has not been confirmed as to whether or not the two are university students. The apartments are not owned or operated by the school.
