On Tuesday, Gov. John Bel Edwards will launch a monthly call-in radio show, “Ask the Governor,” to air on the Louisiana Radio Network.
Instructor Lillian Rideaux-Rideaux-Savoy handed out books, freshly sharpened pencils, loose-leaf paper and calculators to her class on a recent afternoon, and the seven female students were busy working from math textbooks as Rideaux walked the room.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz plans to create a multi-agency drug task force in the parish by the end of the year.
“In late 2006, I began to plan the task force,” Guidroz said. “It was one of my points when I was running for this office.
