A national publishing company has selected two music books by Eunice Symphony Orchestra founder Nancy Simon for publication, bringing to seven the number she has written.
It was front-page news all across the area in late October 1902 when Southern Pacific announced a new schedule that offered two trains a day running across south Louisiana to connect New Orleans with San Francisco.
A Belgian couple learned about a traditional Mardi Gras at the Experience Louisiana Festival and plan to return in February for the Eunice celebration.
Family members of Elmo Quirk, the only police officer ever killed in the line of duty in Eunice, gathered at Eunice City Hall Wednesday for a flag presentation and raising. Quirk was killed by a drunken driver Jan. 4 1965. The flag was donated by Concerns of Police Survivors and will be given to the family later this week.
