Clifton Rambin of Pelican is a multitasker, and his favorite two things to do at one time are carve wood and talk.
“I like to talk to people as they come by and explain what I do,” Rambin, a wood carver and cane maker, said. “That’s the main reason I go to festivals.”
For the first time in the long history of both organizations, the Louisiana Association of Educators and the Louisiana Federation of Teachers are pooling their resources and funding for a single election cycle.
The Eunice Economic Development Committee will return to a focus on business development said its chairman, Don Reber.
Reber, who announced his intention to step down as chairman on Aug. 20, remains with the committee.

Students were returning to class around 11:30 a.m. following a bomb threat at Central Middle School Thursday morning.
Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said a note was found in a bathroom by a student.
