Long-time teacher

LAFAYETTE – Services for retired educator Margaret Mays Bollich will be Tuesday. She died Nov. 8 at age 93.
She was a teacher in Scott and Judice before becoming Title I Reading Supervisor for Lafayette Parish.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter.
Arrangements are by Delhomme.

Musician

ALEXANDRIA – Services for musician and insurance worker Victor Wilder will be Tuesday. He died Nov. 9 at age 75.
He was a recording artist with both Ric and Decca Records, and played with such performers as Chet Atkins, Floyd Cramer and Brenda Lee.
Survivors include his wife Elaine and a son.
Arrangements are by Magnolia.

Seafood merchant

NEW ORLEANS – Services for seafood company owner John Ferrara will be Nov. 23.
He was owner of Ferrara Brothers Seafood and chef at Ernest’s Orleans Restaurant. He was a founding member of Endymion Krewe.
Survivors include his wife Carol and a daughter.
Arrangements are by Lake Lawn.

Pioneer physician

SHREVEPORT – Services are Monday for otorhinolaryngologist Dr. Jack Pou. He died Nov. 7 at age 90.
Before retiring, after 51 years practice, he had served as president of the medical staffs at Confederatore Memorial, Schumpert Hospital and LSU Medical Center.  He was one of the first doctors providing services to Children’s Special Health Services and was instrumental in development of programs for the hearing impaired.
He was the first professor and Head of the Ear, Nose and Throat Department at LSU Shreveport Medical School and head of the ENT program for 20 years. He pioneered several techniques in ear surgery.  An endowed chair for the Dept. of Otorhinolaryngology at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport was established by the Board of Regents.
Survivors include his wife Margaret and several children.

G-P air, water expert

MANDEVILLE – Services were Sunday for former Georgia-Pacific executive Matthew Gould. He died at age 85.
He was former corporate director of energy and environment for Georgia-Pacific. He also chaired the air quality committee for the pulp and paper industry and the ground water policy committee of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. He was engineering manager for Calgon Corp. and acting director of the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation, working to keep the lake clean.
Survivors include his wife Pamela and three daughters.
