Jays grab district split

NEW ROADS – Catholic High of Pointe Coupee exploded for four runs in the bottom of the seventh to grab a 12-11 win over St. Edmund.
Langdon Lemay recorded the wine even though he allowed 11 runs over five innings.
Lemay struck out two, walked three and surrendered 16 hits.
Alex Hunt suffered the loss as he struggled in just one-third of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
The Blue Jays grabbed a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
Drew Brown singled to ignite the Blue Jays' offense. Christian Walker singled, plating Alex Hunt.
Brown scored on an single by Kramer Rozas and Walker scored on a sacrifice by Will Chachere.
In the bottom of the first, Catholic Pointe Coupee scored on an single by Zach LeJeunne, scoring Andrew Jarreau.
Catholic Pointe Coupee scored four runs in the third inning begun with a single by LeJeune, plating Brady Olinde.
St. Edmund rallied for five runs in the top of the fourth to push ahead, 8-5.
Cole Bergeron reached on a fielder’s choice, Austin Sittig singled, Gibson LaFleur walked and all three scored.
Hunt singled, Drew Brown tripled and Walker doubled to complete the Blue Jay rally.
Catholic scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth to close the gap to 8-7.
St. Edmund added a run in the top of the sixth when Walker singled and scored to push the Jays ahead, 11-7.
Catholic Pointe Coupee added a run in the bottom of the sixth on an RBI by Jacob Juge as the Hornets pulled closer, 11-8 to set up the final inning comeback.
On Tuesday at North Park, the Blue Jays outlasted Sacred Heart 8-3 on Tuesday after seven lead changes.
After Sacred Heart took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, the Blue Jays answered with two runs.
Blue Jay Hunt scored when Kramer Rozas reached on a bases loaded walk.
Brown was hit by a pitch and scored and a sacrifice by Chachere.
SHVP scored two runs in the top of the third to take a 3-2 lead before Brown scored in the bottom of the frame to force a 3-3 tie.
The Blue Jays grabbed the lead in a strong fourth inning as errors allowed Bergeron and Sittig to score.
Three more runs in the bottom of the fifth sealed the win for the Blue Jays as Rozas, Chachere and Sittig all singled and scored.
Brown recorded the win as he allowed three runs over six innings.
He struck out six, walked five and gave up five hits.
St. Edmund visits Kaplan on Tuesday before traveling to Pointe Coupee Central on Wednesday.
