Wind shifts, trapping woman with grass fire, she dies

Authorities in Acadia Parish are investigating a death that occurred near Church Point on Friday.
According to Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon, his office received a call concerning a grass fire behind a residence in the 8400 block of the Church Point Hwy. near Church Point.
Upon arrival fire fighters discovered that the homeowner was attempting to burn trash behind the home when the wind shifted trapping 61-year-old Eva Matilda Goodley Guillory, resulting in injuries that caused her death.
The woman's death is being treated as an accident.
