Allegedly drunk driver runs into stalled rig's trailer, passenger killed

A man is charged with vehicular homicide and third-offense DWI after a Tuesday night crash that killed a Sieper woman .
State Police said the crash happened around 8:15 p.m. south of here atpides Station at Old Boyce Road. Edgar Gonzalez, 41, of Alexandria, had made a u-turn in an 18-wheeler, but it stalled in the road.
Gonzales got out of the truck and was standing near it when a pickup truck driven by Dusty Smith, 34, of Boyce, hit the rig’s trailer.
Gonzalez was not injured, but has been charged with parking in the roadway and having an expired license plate.
Smith received minor injuries. One of his passengers, Danielle Stricklin, 28, was killed and another, Marcus Gray, 31, of Colfax was injured.
 None of the trio was wearing seat belts.
Smith was charged with vehicular homicide, third-offense DWI, driving under suspension, careless operation and wearing no seat belt.
