LeJeune accepts Opelousas-St. Landry Chamber post
Former Eunice mayor Lynn LeJeune confirms that she has taken the post of president/CEO of the Opelousas-St. Landry Chamber of Commerce.
She said Tuesday that she will begin the job on Friday.
She succeeds Frankie Bertrand, who she called “a legend.”
“Those are big shoes to fill but I look forward to using experience and knowledge I have in the post,” LeJeune said.
LeJeune was Chamber executive in Eunice for nine and a half years. She ran for and won the mayor’s post in 2002, and lost a re-election bid in 2006. She ran again, unsuccessfully, in 2010.
Since leaving office she has been involved in various professional capacities for several area non-profits.
Additionally, she has maintained an active role in community organizations, including the LSU Eunice Foundation, of which she is currently co-chair.
LeJeune said she will continue to reside in Eunice.
