Former BESE member
CYPRESS, Texas – Private services were held for former La. BESE member and LSU professor Dr. Richard Musemeche. He died Aug. 13 at age 81.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was a teacher in education and facility planning and founder of the La. Assn. of School Executives. He served two elected terms as a BESE member.
Survivors include his wife Christa and several children.
College baseball player
LIVONIA – Services for former LSU Eunice and LSU Shreveport baseball player Samuel Alphonse will be Aug. 25. He died Aug. 14 in Alva, Okla. at age 31.
He was employed at North Western Okla. State College.
Survivors include his mother, father and step-mother.
Arrangements are by Niland’s.
Contractor
SHREVEPORT – Services for contractor “Mickey” Netherton are Aug. 25. He died Aug. 21 at age 86.
He, his brothers and father formed Netherton Construction at the end of World War II. The firm did various local, state and federal highway and building projects. The company designed and built Par 3 Golf Corse, the only area course to provide night golfing.
Survivors include his wife Betty and three children.
Arrangements are by Osborn.
State Policeman
GRAND CANE – Services for former La. State Police Association president “Pete” Allen were Aug. 24. He edie Aug. 21 at age 77.
He was retired from the LSP.
Survivors include his wife Charlotte.
