Pediatrician, insurance exec
NEW ORLEANS – Private services were held for retired pediatrician and insurance executive Dr. Joseph Perret, Jr. He died at age 91.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II’s Pacific Theater He practiced pediatrics for 20 years, serving as president of the city Medical Society and the state Pediatrics Society. After retiring from private practice, he was vice president and medical director for Pan American Life Insurance for 20 years.
Survivors include several children.

Teacher, principal
OPELOUSAS – Services for retired teacher and principal Elaine Bellemin will be Sept. 10. She died Sept. 6 at age 81.
She was a teacher for 16 years and was principal of Park Vista Elementary for eight years.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter.
Arrangements are by Sibille.

Former mayor, alderman
PLAUCHEVILLE – Services for former mayor and alderman Stewart “Tee-Brown” Aymond will be Sept. 9. He died Sept. 5 at age 91.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II’s Pacific Theater. He served three terms as mayor and three terms as an alderman.
Survivors include his wife Mildred and four childrne.
Arrangements are by Escude, Cottonport.

Pathologist, mortician
NEW ROADS – Services for pathologist and funeral home owner James Boulanger will be Sept. 8. He died Sept. 2 at age 77.
He was assistant pathologist at Earl K. Long Hospital for 37 years and was a member of the Point Coupee General Hospital Board for 18 years. He owned and operated Riverside Funeral Home.
Survivors include two sons.

Urologist
SHREVEPORT – Services for retired urologist Dr. John Chidlow will be Sept. 9. He died Sept. 5 at age 73.
He practiced here for 39 years.
Survivors include his wife Patti and three children.
Arrangements are by Rose-Neath.

Port director, all-state athlete
NEW ORLEANS – Services for former port director and school board member August “Duke” Robin were Sept. 5. He died Sept. 1 at age 72.
He was an all-state football, basketball and baseball player at St. Bernard High. His high school jersey number was retired. He was also a member of the Mississippi High School Assn. Hall of Fame (playing one year at Gulfport High). He played football at Southeastern University in Hammond.
He as instrumental in establishing the Port of St. Bernard and was its first executive director. He had been on the boards of First National Bank of St. Bernard and Nunez Community College Foundation. He served two terms on the St. Bernard Parish School Board and founded Restaurant August in 2001.
Survivors include three children.
