Trick or Treating will be Thursday, Oct. 30 this year

The Eunice City Council has officially set the 2014 Trick or Treating date as Thursday, Oct. 30, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
The council took the action at its meeting Tuesday night, after Mayor Rusty Moody, Jr. noted that Halloween, Oct. 31, falls on a Friday this year.
Traditionally, police has asked the city administrations to change Trick or Treat night when Halloween falls on a Friday or a Saturday, due to the normal increase in traffic flow on those night and the potential increased hazard to youngsters.
On another subject, the council heard that the date for the first Experience Louisiana Festival has been picked. It will be Nov. 7-8, 2015 on the campus of LSU Eunice.
The council passed a resolution of support for what is considered a revival of sorts of the old Tri-Parish Fair.
