St. Mathilda Church receives Garden marker

St. Mathilda Catholic Church at 800 E. Laurel Avenue was presented the marker of Business Yard of the Month by volunteer Eunice Bulb & Blossom Garden Club member Lynn Venable. The church features flowering beds, north, south, and west of the church. The flowering beds include plants and flowers of gerber daisies, marigolds, periwinkles, Knock Out roses, day lilies, petunias, cannas, callas, Lily of the Nile, lugustrum, Live Oaks, and crape myrtles. Father Darren Eldridge and church member Eva Jordan are pictured. Fr. Eldridge has been pastor of the church for the past 6 years; and Jordan, who planted and cares for the flowering beds, has been a parishioner since 1973.
