Trent Collins, left, and Gabriel Bear, both sixth-graders at Central Middle, prepare for an English report on their interview experience with Social Networking.

Central Middle School students had the opportunity to perform a “Social Networking- Mixing It Up” hour as part of school-wide social skills activity.
English teachers helped compile interview questions for the middle school students to use on their individual interview. Students were asked to interview “one-on-one” a fellow student, however, someone they did not know at all.
After the interview was completed, students reported back to their English class and were asked to write a report about their answers.
The goal was, Principal R. Landry said, “To initiate a level of diversity in understanding others through structured dialogue.”
At 7th hour at the end of school day, in back yard area of campus, on a clear sunny day English students were outdoors face-to-face, sitting, standing and all the while interviewing each other and a total stranger with their 7 different questions. Questions asked included: “What is your favorite thing about being at Central Middle School?
“In what ways are you successful at Central Middle?
“What do you like to do in your spare time?
“If you could go back in time, what would you change and why?
“If you could step into the future, what would you want to see?
“What is the best memory of your life?
“What is one personality trait you are proud of?
