Bank robber's bomb a fake, suspect at large

Robbery at State Bank

Eunice police are searching tonight for a suspect they have in a late-afternoon robbery at State Bank.
Eunice Police Chief Ronald Dies said an alleged bomb left in the bank by the fleeing female bandit was determined by State Police to be nothing but wires and a battery.
Police say the suspect is a middle-aged, white, female who was wearing a red plaid shirt and dark colored pants. She also had on a baseball cap and sunglasses. The woman was last seen headed south on 4th Street on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
According to Eunice Police the woman did produce a gun, but no one was injured.
A similar ruse was used by a man robbing a different Eunice bank in 2013.
Indications were police believe the woman could have copied that robbery.
