Chief Ronald Dies a candidate for re-election

Ronald Dies is a candidate for re-election as Eunice Chief of Police in the Nov. 4 primary.
He is a life-long resident of Acadiana. He attended Richard Elementary School and Church Point High School. He has lived in Eunice for the past 30 years.
Dies has 40 years of combined law enforcement experience.
Prior to being elected Chief in 2010, he served as an auxiliary officer with the Eunice Police Department, then as a special agent with the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, then with the State Police.
Since his election, Dies has instituted a program of continuing education for departmental supervisors, updated the department computer system, and outfitted officers with body cameras.
Additionally, changes have been made to the design of department vehicles and uniforms.
