Special values at 32 Noel on the Prairie participants

There’s plenty of time Saturday to visit the 32 locations on the 15th annual Noel on the Prairie and get your holiday shopping started before getting ready for the 7 p.m. LSU-Alabama kickoff from Tiger Stadium.
That’s right -- this year’s holiday shopping gala has grown to 32 stops, with each providing shoppers the opportunity to qualify three times for a Nov. 13 drawing valued at $800.
Shoppers get one entry in the drawing for each stop they make on the Noel route, providing the opportunity to have their names in the hat three times.
But a shopper’s name doesn’t have to be drawn for her or him (yes, men do find bargains on the prairie) because winning values are offered at every stop along the way.
Additionally, light food and drink are offered at a number of the retailers’, giving Noel participants the opportunity to socialize as well as shop.
Noel on the Prairie has become the traditional kick-off to the Christmas shopping season in the Eunice area, as well as an anchor event of the annual Main Street celebration.
The Noel specials offered by the merchants provide shoppers an opportunity to essentially double their purchasing power during the two-day event.
The Noel open house, co-sponsored by Basile State Bank, Whitney Bank, Tri-Parish Bank, St. Landry Bank and JD Bank, is Saturday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Some of the businesses are closed on Sunday.
Complete details and a look at participating merchants and some of the bargains are on Pages 8 and 9.
