Highland Elementary students hold Breast Cancer Awareness Walk on campus

Highland Elementary held its annual Breast Cancer Walk For The Cure on its campus recently. The staff recognized its two Breast Cancer survivors during the event. Top Photo are Carolyn Faul, left, and Lorita Harris. Faul has been cancer-free for the past 8 years and is a paraprofessional at Highland for the past 23 years. Harris has been cancer-free for 22 months and is a volunteer at Highland from time to time, and the grandmother of two Highland students-Tristian and Trinity Harris. Pictured directly above are kindergarteners Ijah Mitchell, left, and Journey Semien, holding the official Breast Cancer Walk For The Cure poster sign. Teachers and students alike took a short stroll around the campus grounds. At the conclusion of the walk students released pink and white balloons to honor those who have battled breast cancer or those who have lost their lives to breast cancer. Principal at Highland Elementary is Lorie LeDoux.
