Non-license driver charged in East Laurel accident

First responders attend to the needs of a driver whose KIA flipped on East Laurel early Monday afternoon.

A Mamou teenager was charged with having no driver's license and reckless operation following a three-vehicle accident on East Laurel Monday afternoon.
The driver of one vehicle, whose name was not released, was taken to an Opelousas hospital for treatment following the collision.
Police said Kyra Todriana Shillow, 18, was charged after she pulled from the Brown's Furniture parking lot onto East Laurel, striking a KIA and causing it to flip over. A third vehicle was also struck as a result of the collision.
The KIA's driver was wearing her seat belt, when it flipped.
