Miller named Eunice High School Student of the Year
Kylie Miller, a senior at Eunice High School, has captured the honor of Student of The Year.
To be selected and named as Student of the Year, a senior student must maintain a 3.5 GPA or higher and have scored at least a 25 on the ACT. “All participants are required to write an essay and a committee blindy screens essays and credentials. Then a winner is chosen,” said Principal Mitch Fontenot.
Miller has served as EHS Varsity Cheerleader for the past 3 years and is currently the squad’s captain. She was also a member of the Emeralds Dance team for one year.
Miller was awarded All American Cheerleader three years in a row at SCA Cheer camp.
Miller loves sports and was a member of the Lady Cats Softball team for one year and captured the title of Scholar Athlete, an honor given by her team.
She has been an active member of Student Council for the past four years, currently serving as Vice-President.
Miller is also a member fo the ACT 22+ Club, an Ace Letterman, and was part of the Eagles Gifted Program for 10 years.
In addition, Miller has been a member of Renaissance and FBLA for four years, National Honor Society and Pay It Forward for two years, and a member of the Yearbook Staff for three years.
Miller was voted Class Favorite during her freshman and sophomore years and she was voted Most Likely to be Valedictorian during her freshman year.
During the 2013-2014 school year, Kylie was chosen as Girl’s State Representative and attended Girl’s State in Nachitoches.
Principal Fontenot is pleased about Student of the Year Miller and added, “Kylie is an excellent representation of what any student can accomplish at Eunice High School with determination, parental support and a desire to learn and improve.
“We are very proud of what Kylie has accomplished at Eunice High School and we are sure she will suceed in life at whatever she chooses to do.”
Miller is the daughter of Nicky and Bridgette Miller of Eunice.
