CLA cruises past Bobcats

BATON ROUGE – The Eunice High Bobcats couldn’t overcome another poor first quarter and the Christian Life Crusaders used their early lead to propel themselves to an 81-45 victory Tuesday night.
The Crusaders jumped ahead of the Bobcats by a 20-7 margin at the end of the first quarter, led by Ludovic Kader’s nine points. The Bobcats, now 3-8 on the season, were never able to get back in the game as the Crusaders’ Sam Williams basically put the game away with an 18-point second quarter to put Christian Life on top by a 57-18 margin.
The Crusaders sealed the victory by outscoring the Bobcats by a 30-27 margin over the final two quarters of the contest.
Williams led the Crusaders in scoring with a total of 31 points, including eight from beyond the three-point arc. Kader finished with 15 points, including two 3-point field goals.
Travis Godfrey topped the Eunice scoring with 11 points, including three 3-point field goals. Halen Jack added 10 points, while Devon Freeman and Brandon Ndubueze chipped in with six point apiece.
The next action for the Bobcats is in the Jennings High Tournament tonight when they face the Rayne High Wolves.
