Mardi Gras early this year; event schedule full
Mardi Gras is early this year, with official activities kicking off on Feb. 12 and concluding on Fat Tuesday, Feb. 17.
Eunice Mardi Gras festivities will officially kick off with the annual Taster’s Choice, Thursday, Feb. 12 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at LSU Eunice.
With a fee of $25 one can sample many food selections from 30+ area chefs. Proceeds from the event benefit Eunice Community Clinic.

Mardi Gras events on Friday, Feb. 13 will include Paul Daigle & Cajun Gold at Rocky’s Cajun Kitchen, located at 1415 E. Laurel, from 6 to 9 p.m.
LakeView Park located on La. 13 North will have live entertainment, to be announced at a later date, at 7:30 p.m.
From 8 until midnight at S. Second Street entertainment will be provided by Travis Matte & The Zydeco Kingpins.
Saturday, Feb. 14: South Second St. stage schedule includes:
Noon until 3 p.m., Jason Frey & Laginappe
3-6 p.m.: Kyle Huval & Dixie Club Ramblers
At the Jean Lafitte Prairie Acadian Culture Center at 3 p.m. there will be a Music Program and at 4 p.m. there will be FoodWays Demonstration.
At the Liberty Theater from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. there will be a “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio/TV Show with LaRecolte. Tickets are $5 at door for general admission seating.
At 6 p.m. at Rocky’s, Fred Charlie & Acadian Cajuns will perform.
At 8:30 p.m. at S. Second Street & Walnut Ave Stage - LaRecolte will provide entertainment.
7:30 p.m. at LakeView a Barn Dance with Pine Leaf Boys, Horace Trahan & Ossun Express
At 9 p.m. at Ruby’s Restaurant Dance Hall live entertainment by One Trick Pony.
Sunday, Feb. 19: At 9 a.m. the Children’s Mardi Gras run will leave Eunice Recreational Complex.

At 9:30 a.m. an Old Time Boucherie.
Arts & Crafts and Food venues.
11:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Street Dance with Ryan Simon and ACADIEN.
At Walnut & Second Street Stage from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Fred Charlie & Acadiana Cajuns
At 3 p.m. Children’s Run arrives Downtown Second Street
4 until 8 p.m.: The Paul & Pete Band
At 6 p.m. at Rocky’s Cajun Kitchen, Fred Charlie & Acadian Cajuns will perform.
At 7:30 p.m. at Lakeview Park: Kyle Huval & the Dixie Club Ramblers & The Revelers
Monday, Feb. 16:
At Noon Jean Lafitte Center will open.
1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Northwest Center the Council on Aging will have a Mardi Gras Dance.

At 8 a.m. Mardi Gras Run leaves Northwest Center.

From 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Walnut and 2nd St. Stage: Donny Broussard
At Park Ave. Stage at 10 a.m.- Bande de Plaquemine Brulee
At 1 p.m. Paul Daigle & Cajun Gold
At approximately 3 p.m. the Courir de Mardi Gras arrives downtown Second Street.
From 4 to 6 p.m. Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys will entertain
From 4 until 8 p.m. Leroy Thomas provides entertainment
At 5 p.m. at Rocky’s Cajun Kitchen: Wallace Trahan with Rice N’ Gravy
At Ruby’s Restaurant Dance Hall beginning at 6 p.m. Geno Delafose & French Rockin Boogie performs.
