Blessing of St. Ed Softball field Monday
The public is invited to the official blessing, ribbon cutting and dedication of the new St. Edmund Softball field on Monday at 3 p.m.
The field, located at 1740 W. Magnolia, is next to St. Ed football stadium.
There will be fun jumps, and hamburgers and crawfish etouffee will be sold.

UBS Drive Eunice- Tuesday, March 9
The Luck of the Irish doesn’t save lives…You do! Donate blood March 1-17 and you will receive a green, St. Patrick’s Day themed blood donor T-shirt (while supplies last).
Donors have several opportunities to donate and receive a St. Patrick’s DayT-shirt:
Wal-Mart – Eunice on Tuesday, from 10:15 a.m.-2 p.m. in the bloodmobile
Tri-Parish Bank on March 9 from noon-6 p.m. in the bloodmobile

Eunice Bass Club meeting set Wednesday
The Eunice Lagniappe Bass Club will hold its annual meeting Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Shallow Lake Hunting Lodge.
The bass club membership is open to anyone 18 years old and older. The club is open to non-boaters, boaters, and bass fishermen of all skill levels.Meetings are held monthly at a local lake from March to October.This is a no-points club. Information: 224-5128 or 298-1077.
ABC sets men’s
retreat March 6-7
The Acadian Baptist Center will host a Men’s Retreat Friday and Saturday. Information: 457-9047 or visit abccamp.com.
Book signing
Author Neal Bertrand will be selling and signing his newest book entitled, “Dad’s War Photos Adventures in the South Pacific World War II” at the Eunice Public Library, a branch of the Opelousas-Eunice Public Library System, on Saturday March 7 from 10 a.m. until noon.

EHS seniors Health clinic set Saturday
EHS Seniors William Oglesby, Bethany Isaac and Destiny Shillow will host a Senior Health Care project on Saturday, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the GoodHope Place Apartments, located at 300 S. MLKing Drive in Eunice
The free health clinic will be open to senior citizens. Health care providers will provideinformation and taking blood pressures. There will also be free food and games.
Usher’s program set
The Greater True Light Baptist Church in Eunice will have its 8th annual Usher’s Appreciation Usher’s Mini-Worshop & Fellowship program on Saturday with registration at 10 a.m.
Willie Mae Taylor of Ebenezer Baptist, Opelousas, will be guest speaker.
There will also be an Usher’s Appreciation Day service with annual Ushers’ March on Sunday, March 8 during the 8:30 a.m. service.
