Bobcat Relays open track season
The Notre Dame Lady Pioneers and the Crowley Gents won the 2015 Bobcat Relays held last Friday at the Eunice High athletic complex.
The Eunice Lady Cats finished in third, while the Bobcats grabbed a fourth place finish.
The Lady Pios won with 112 points, followed by Opleousas Catholic (104), Eunice (97), Oakdale (83.5), Port Barre (79), Rayne (74), Crowley (40), Beau Chene (34) and Northwest (25.5).
Eunice High’s Kiarra White won the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.78, while Beuhla Bradley finished third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.03.
Lady Cat Clea Fransaw finished second in the 400 meters at 1:06.94, while team mate Saja Chevis was third (1:07.65).
Jyhreh Johnson, White, Hanna Jack and Bradley combined to win the 4x200 relay with a time of 1:49.18.
The foursome also won the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:31.06.
Robbie Palmer finished third in the high jump at 4-8.
In the boys competition, the Gents won with 157 points, followed by Oakdale (111), Beau Chene (93), Eunice (81), Northwest (62), Notre Dame (53), Opelousas Catholic (47), Rayne (25) and Port Barre (22).
Bobcat Cole Prudhomme won the shot put with a throw of 52-11.5 and finished second in the discus with a toss of 118-5.
Jordan Victorian finished second in the high jump with a leap of 6-2.
Nicholas Powell finished second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11:28, while Ethan Briscoe finished third in the 3,200 meter run at 12:27.69.
Ajyh Johnson, Sergio Betanco, Cameron More and Powell finished third in the 4x100 relay with a time of 46.28.
