2nd Lt. Stephen Bollich, husband of the former “Dolly” Ticac and son of Mr and Mrs. A.J. Bollich, has been killed in an accident in Italy. He was a graduate of St. Edmund Catholic High School and USL. He shipped overseas in January of this year. His brother Andrew is reported as Missing in Action and his brother James is a Japanese POW.
Sales at Adam Smith’s Jitney-Jungle Store were $1,200 higher in March than in any month since the store opened in October, according to Smith.
There is no provision in the rationing setup for special occasions, such as those for Easter wear or to wear for first communion, and the clergy has been reminded of this, according to George Stagg of the parish War Price and Rationing Board.
Joe Johnson of Eunice retained his Southern A.A.U. boxing championship in the 118-pound class with a solid decision over sailor Johnny O’Keefe of the Algiers Naval Base.

Brig. Gen. Foster Tate of Eunice is commanding officer of an artillery division in the European Theater of the war. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Tate.
A contract has been awarded to rid City Hall of pests -- termites that is.
