Eunice man, woman arrested in connection with burglary from elderly man’s residence

A Eunice man was arrested on four counts of simple burglary in connection with the theft of household items from an elderly man’s residence.
Police identified the man as Zachary Lee Moody, 36, 200 block of East Maple, Eunice.
Moody is charged with four counts of simple burglary, possession of Schedule II narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia and four counts of theft of assets of a person who is aged.
In addition, Victoria Faith Alfred, 28, 400 block of Eula, Eunice, was charged with principle to simple burglary.
Detective Robert Brickley said Moody was walking near the police station when he was arrested Tuesday.
Once inside the police station, Moody was searched and crystal meth was found, he said.
The victim is in his 80s and in a nursing home, Brickley said.
More arrests are pending and Moody faces charges from a separate burglary, he said.
Alfred went with Moody when he committing a burglary, he said.
