Money, ice cream taken from Dairy Queen; Pizza delivery guy robbed at gunpoint

Armed robberies occur at same time in Eunice

A pair of armed robberies occurred at 8:50 p.m. Sunday in Eunice, one at Dairy Queen and the other of a pizza delviery man at Beulah and Williams streets, Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said.
At the Dairy Queen, three people, two armed with guns, robbed the business of its cash register money and then one of the robbers requested an ice cream, he said.
Fontenot said some of the money taken was recoved. The ice cream was not recoved, he said.
One person has been apprehended in connection with the Dairy Queen robbery and Fontenot said he expects additional arrests today.
In the other incident, a Mr. Gatti’s pizza delivery guy was set up with a request for pizzas at an unoccupied residence, he said.
As the delivery guy carried the pizzas, four men rushed him and pushed him to ground and put a gun to his head.
The delivery man gave up his glasses, wallet, cell phone, watch and Mr. Gatti’s money to the robbers.
The pizzas were left on the porch.
In another incident, this one at 4:59 a.m. Monday, a broken window was reported at Manuel’s Cleaners at 110 Eisenhower Street.
An officer arrived and found a man seated inside. The man was arrested.
The identity of the man was not available.
