Jan. 28
09:20 Theft in the 700 block of Richard Street.
12:20 Woman at Acadian Village contacted her mother saying her husband was beating her.
13:46 Theft in the 600 block of South 4th.
13:56 Woman said her brother is beating her in the 200 block of Veterans Drive.
14:47 Disturbance at Dairy Queen.
16:27 Wreck in the 1000 block of Faris where a child was struck with a car. Mother will bring child the emergency room.
17:14 Break-in in the 200 block of Beulah.
19:51 Dog bit. Victim at Acadian Medical Center emergency room.
19:59 Woman South Campus emergency room in Opelousas called and said a woman said she was sexually assaulted on Betty Street on Jan. 25. The woman wanted an officer to do a rape kit and question the victim. The victim was asked to come to the police department Jan. 29 for questioning. (Deputy Chief Richard Daigle said rape kits must be done within 24 hours of the incident.)
