Homicide victim’s body identified
DNA tests identified the body found Feb. 1 in a wooded area in Eunice as that of Akeem Addidis Ceasar, 22, of Eunice, Police Chief Randy Fontenot said.
Ceasar had been shot, he said, but additional details were not released.
The death has been ruled the result of a homicide.
Fontenot said the people police contacted about Ceasar said the last time he was seen was on Christmas Eve.
The body was found with camouflage sweat pants, a gray hooded sweatshirt and Adidas tennis shoes.
Ceasar was a native of Eunice and graduate of Eunice High School, Fontenot said
“He was not one to cause problems,” Fontenot said.
“We know of no reason why anyone would want him dead at this time,” Fontenot said.
There is a person police investigators want to talk with, he said. The person is not suspect at the time, he said.
The body was found by one of two men running rabbit dogs in a wooded area about 100 yards north of the 200 block of East Magnolia Street.
Fontenot said the body was in an advanced state of decomposition when found.
Fontenot asks that if anyone has any information about Ceaser’s concerning the homicide to call police at 337-457-2626.
