Blood donors to receive St. Patrick’s Day t-shirt

Blood donors to United Blood Services through March 17 will receive a St. Patrick’s Day T-shirt, a United Blood Services news release stated.
United Blood Services provides more than 50 Louisiana hospitals with blood products.
Blood drives in Eunice are scheduled:
— Noon to 6 p.m. Monday at Tri-Parish Bank.
— 1:45 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Walmart.
Donors can also donate at United Blood Services Donor Center located at 1503 Bertrand Drive in Lafayette. Donor Center hours are: Monday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesday 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Wednesday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Saturday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and Sunday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Volunteer blood donors must be at least 16 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. Additional height/weight requirements apply to donors 22 and younger, and donors who are 16 years of age must have signed permission from a parent or guardian. Donors receive a free cholesterol test. Donors also earn points in United Blood Services’ “Hero in Me” online rewards store. Points can be redeemed for movie tickets, pizza, shopping cards and more at www.bloodhero.com.
