Arrest made in 2015 bomb threat at Eunice Junior High
A 15-year-old Eunice Junior High School student was arrested Monday on charges stemming from a Dec. 10, 2015 bomb threat at the school.
Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said, "There was a sign posted outside one of the buildings at the school. The sign said, 'This school will blow up in one more hour.'"
The male suspect was charged with communication of false information of a planned bombing on school property, which can carry a sentence of up 25 years in prison, and terrorizing, which can carry a sentence of up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to $15,000.
Fontenot said there were several suspects during the investigation. Numerous handwriting samples were submitted to a handwriting expert for analysis, Fontenot said.
"He (the suspect) was in school at the junior high that day," Fontenot said. "He has been released to his parents pending a court date in juvenile court."
