Eunice Main Street offers grants for downtown projects
Eunice Main Street is soliciting Redevelopment Incentive Grant applications from downtown building and/or business owners. The Eunice Main Street program is able to offer two types of competitive grants: a $10,000 grant for major projects and a $2,500 grant for minor projects.
Applications received from Eunice Main Street building and/or business owners will compete statewide for funding with other Main Street communities’ applications. To be eligible for Redevelopment Incentive Grant funds through the program, a building must be located within the downtown Main Street district, be used for commercial purposes, and be at least 50 years old. In addition, the proposed work must be approved by the local historic district commission and the Louisiana Main Street office, while also conforming to the guidelines set forth by the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation.
Eunice Main Street Redevelopment Incentive grants are reimbursable matching grants that can be used for exterior or interior rehabilitation projects. All grant applications must be submitted to the Eunice Main Street office at 300 S. 2nd St. by June 20. If awarded a Redevelopment Incentive Grant, the applicant has until April 28, 2017, to complete the work and submit the required reimbursement documentation.
The Eunice downtown Main Street district is bounded by West Peach Avenue on the north, CC Duson Street on the east, Park Avenue on the south, and 3rd Street on the west. Contact Candace Reeves at 337-457-7389 for more information.
